Batch numbers

Batch numbers summarize similar quantities. They support tracing, quality assurance and targeted blocking or recall processes.

Your quick start

1. Open Batch numbers in the desktop Storage.
2. Check existing records, statuses and relationships before creating or changing anything.
3. Save consciously and control the result in the immediately following process.

That's what matters

Record the batch and, if applicable, shelf life upon receipt. Subsequent corrections must remain traceable.

Note

Batch numbers can only be used in items with the Batch customization type be recorded. When creating an item, select one item template (see Administration > Master data initialization) with this guy.

Register overview

• Batch number: Assign the unique number. The number can consist of up to 20 characters.
• item: Select the batch number item from the item master data or create a new item.
• Supplier Series: Supplier-side serial number
• Storage info: The storage info is a “small” storage location management. If all quantities of an item are stored in one place, the storage location can be identified without the storage location management having to be activated. You enter the warehouse information in the item master data in the register Storage:
• Guarantee from/to: Note customer and supplier warranty periods.
• Info: Free text field
• Storage report: The warehouse overview provides information about the warehouse and storage location as well as inventory, packed quantity and now available quantity.

History

• With the creation of a storage-effective document, a warehouse transfer or an inventory that results in a change in inventory, an entry is made in the history.
