X-ERP Help

Support settings

The support settings contain visible contact details for your own specialist dealer. If the data is properly maintained, support requests reach the right place.

Support settings

  • Administration > Master data initialization > Support settings
  • A good support process begins with correct contact details and ends with functioning shipping. This page keeps both things together: the contact person and the technical SMTP information.

Contact person and address of the supporting specialist dealer

  • Consultant: Name or unique designation of the specialist dealer.
  • Name1, Name2, Name3: Multi-line company or organization name of the support partner.
  • Salutation, first name, last name: personal contact person.
  • Street, extension, zip code, city, country: full support address; the country is chosen from the country base.
  • Phone 1, Phone 2, Mobile, Fax: reachable communication numbers in a uniform notation.
  • Homepage: Web address of the support partner or support portal.

Support and email delivery

  • Support email: Destination address for support communication.
  • Remark: internal additional information, such as availability or contract reference; do not store passwords here.
  • Sender email address: Address where X-ERP sends support messages.
  • SMTP server: Mail server hostname.
  • SMTP port: Connection port specified by the mail provider.
  • SSL: activates the encrypted connection if the mail server requires this for the selected port.
  • Password: Login details for shipping; only authorized persons are allowed to maintain this value.

Setup and testing

  1. First enter the support partner, contact person and destination address.
  2. Adopt the SMTP server, port, SSL specification and sender exactly from the mail administration.
  3. Enter the password protected and save.
  4. Send a controlled test message.
  5. Check receipt, sender, response path and possible error messages.
A saved SMTP value does not prove successful sending. Only the test message confirms that the server, port, encryption and access data match.

Frequently asked questions

Why is saving the SMTP data not enough?

Only a test message shows whether the server, port, SSL, sender and access data work together.

What belongs in remark?

An internal organizational note, but never a password or other secret access value.

Who supplies SMTP server, port and SSL default?

The responsible mail administrator or mail provider. Please copy this information exactly.
