Posting Period Wizard

The accounting period wizard creates several consecutive periods in a controlled step and connects the business period with the calendar year and calendar month.

Why this point is crucial for key users

The assistant takes care of routine work, but not the technical decisions. The key user determines where the sequence begins and how many periods should actually be created. The prerequisite is that the years over which the financial years extend have already been recorded in the system. (see Administration > Financial Initialization > Years) postings are summarized according to periods that are part of a financial year. A financial year consists of 12 periods (= months) and begins on the 1st of a month (e.g. January 1st, 2024 to December 31st, 2024). The accounting periods of different periods must never overlap, that is, if a period ends on December 31st. ends, then the new period begins by default on January 1st. of the following year. Always record accounting periods chronologically. First create the periods of the financial year in which you want to start working in X-ERP. Please note that after the first fiscal year has been created, no more accounting periods can be created whose dates are before this fiscal year.

Fields and settings at a glance

  • Financial year: The year to which the new accounting periods belong. If the financial year is spread over 2 calendar years, the first year is chosen.

  • Calendar year: The calendar year in which the first period actually occurs.
  • Calendar month: The calendar month of the first period.
  • Number of periods: How many consecutive accounting periods the wizard creates.
  • With the switch Create accounting periods all periods are created. The new periods receive the status Open.
