Register overview
- Tax code: Unique identifier; cannot be freely changed after saving. The code can consist of up to 3 characters. To enable easy assignment, the sales tax codes in the version of X-ERP delivered in Germany begin with the abbreviation U, the input tax code with the abbreviation v and the acquisition tax / reverse charge key with the abbreviation E.
- Name: Understandable name of the tax case. Up to 100 characters can be used.
- Tax type: Type of tax.
- VAT ID number required: Indicates cases in which the partner's VAT number must be present.
- E-invoice category: Standardized tax category for structured electronic invoices. Is the category None selected, the tax code cannot be used in e-invoices.
Details tab
- The tax rate, tax accounts and validity of a tax code are recorded in the details.
- Valid from: Multiple validity periods can be listed in the details. The previous period ends automatically on the day before the start date of the new validity period.
- Tax %
- Tax account: For tax codes with the tax type sales tax, the sales tax account is entered in this field; for tax codes with the tax type input tax, the input tax account is recorded in this field.
- Acquisition tax account: For tax codes with the tax type purchase tax, the sales tax account is recorded.
- Cash discount account:
- Input tax account: For tax codes with the tax type purchase tax, the input tax account is selected.
- Non-due account: For tax codes with the tax type sales tax.
- Course: Defaulted to 100.00.
- Export tax code: For exporting data to another program (e.g. a DATEV export) the code of the target program is entered.

- Define a clear code and a descriptive label.
- Assign the tax type, VAT ID requirement and e-invoice category.
- Maintain associated details and accounts.
- Test receipt calculation, posting and e-invoice output together.
