Sales
The sales price is controlled via date-related price lists. Partner and receipt select the list, the item provides the applicable price.
Sales: finding the right price at the right time
X-ERP separates the internal calculation from the price used in the document. This counts for sales positions Sales price list selected on the document. When inserting an item, the last valid price in this list is searched.
This is how the proposal comes about
- The partner or the sales document provides this Price list.
- X-ERP searches for all entries in this list for the item Valid from is not in the future.
- The most recent valid entry is used as the price.
- Price, price unit and discounts are transferred to the document item.
If a valid list entry is missing, a reliable price cannot be suggested. A price of zero is prominently marked in the item list and must be checked.
Price list change in the document
If you change the price list of a sales document, X-ERP recalculates existing item positions. For items with a price in the new list, the price and discount will be reset. If there is no suitable entry, the previous price remains the same; the discount is not derived from the new list. Therefore, check all positions after every change.
Check before sharing
- The customer has the correct sales price list.
- There is a currently valid entry for every frequently sold item.
- Price unit and currency of the list are correct.
- Future prices will only begin on the desired deadline.
- A price list change in the test document creates the expected items.
Rule of practice
Maintain new prices with a clear deadline and test them before that date. This means that the old price can continue to work until the change, while the new one is already prepared.
