Languages

The language root makes languages clearly selectable and understandable. Consistent assignment is the basis for multilingual master data, communication and output.

Languages: Uniqueness for multilingual processes

  • A language needs two things in X-ERP: a stable identifier for the system and an understandable name for people. The language stem creates exactly this separation.
  • You can find the overview in Administration > Master data initialization > Languages.

Fields explained

  • Language code: Unique technical identifier of the language. Use a consistent standard and avoid multiple codes for the same language.
  • Language: Written out name that users recognize in lists and selection fields.

Here's how to do it

  1. Search for code and language name before creating a new entry.
  2. Enter a stable code and a unique name.
  3. Save and check the language in a suitable selection field.

Differentiation from AI translations

The language root defines available languages in the general master data. Under Administration > Initialization AI > AI translations Specify separately which target languages are offered for AI-supported translations.
