Viewer, export and distribution

The X-ERP Viewer shows dashboards as read-only and permission-dependent; Export makes the entire view or individual elements usable outside of the viewer.

Open Dashboard Designer on the desktop Administration.

Your goal

You can check the dashboard in the viewer from the user's perspective, test interactions and choose suitable output formats for the overall view or individual elements.

Why this is crucial in the dashboard designer

The designer shows how you build; the viewer shows how people work. Only there do filters, drill-down, layout, authorization and export prove their suitability for everyday use.

Elements and settings at a glance

• ViewerOnly: Read-only X-ERP mode without design features.
• Read permission: Controls whether a user is allowed to open the dashboard view.
• Dashboard selection / ID: Opens a specific centrally stored template.
• Export Dashboard: PDF, image or Excel output of the entire current view, if offered.
• Export item: PDF, Image, Excel or CSV of a single item, depending on the item type.
• Current State: Active filters, parameters, selection and, if applicable, scrolling status can influence the export.
• Maximize: Zooms in on an item before review or analysis.
• Template export: X-ERP backup of the template as .X-ERP-DASHBOARD.

Here's how to do it

1. Save the designer status and open the dashboard in the viewer.
2. Check startup status, active filters, interactions and reset functions.
3. Test with a user of the actual target role.
4. Export overall view and a relevant individual element.
5. Open files separately and control values, titles, filter hints and readability.

Exercise

Open your practice dashboard in the viewer, set a time period filter, maximize a grid and export the overall view as PDF and grid data as Excel/CSV.

Check the result

• Unauthorized users are not granted access.
• Viewer shows no editing functions.
• Start filters and parameters make sense.
• Export contains the expected data state.
• Files are understandable regardless of the dashboard.

Typical errors and their solutions

• Designer view as acceptance: Authorization and viewer interaction remain unchecked.
• Export filtered view silently: Control active filters and parameters.
• Send X-ERP DASHBOARD to readers: This is a template, not a readable analysis format.

Your result

The dashboard works securely, interactively and in the required output formats for the target group.
