Extra fields

Extra fields adds defined input fields to existing data sets and integrates them into processes in a controlled manner.

Recommended process

1. Clarify the target, affected record and required permissions.
2. Open the area Toolbox > Extra fields on the desktop Administration.
3. Check existing information and record the change completely and comprehensibly.
4. Save and check the result in the associated follow-up process or in the appropriate list.

Fields

• Field: Manually assigned ID. XX is automatically prefixed.
• Display name: Give it a name.
• Type: Selection of file type
• Table: Select the table to which the extra field should be assigned.
• Mandatory field: Activate the checkbox if it is a mandatory field.
• Clear: If necessary, activate the checkbox.
• Default: If necessary, activate the checkbox.
• Foreign key table: Select a table.
• Foreign key ID field:
• Foreign key name field:
• Position: in the table
• Left side: The field is displayed left-aligned if the checkbox is set.

Then check

• Master data, status and responsibility are complete and plausible.
• The change is saved and can be found again via search or list.
• The adjacent process accepts the data as expected.

Avoid typical mistakes

Leave Extra fields not immediately after an entry. Save consciously and then check whether the expected result is visible.
