Commission groups

Commission groups connect employees with clear, verifiable commission rates. You control whether X-ERP determines a record generally or depending on item and partner groups.

Prepare commission groups

A good commission rule rewards performance without creating new discussions about how it is calculated. Commission groups on the desktop Management > Settings X-ERP provides a clear set of rules for this: the responsible employee brings his commission group with him, items and business partners provide the technical classification upon request, and the document item receives the appropriate percentage.

What a commission group does

The commission group bundles commission rates that can be assigned to employees. When working with document items, X-ERP can determine the rate based on the responsible employee and - depending on your configuration - also take the item group and the partner group into account.

He investigated Commission rate is saved in the document item. From this, X-ERP calculates the commission amount and can show the result after commission. This means that not only the sentence but also its effect in the process remains comprehensible.

Commission group fields

  • Commission group: Clear, understandable name of the set of rules, for example “Sales Standard” or “Field Service Product Areas”. The name must be different from other commission groups.
  • Per item group: Hides the commission rates item group a. Activate this option if different assortment or product areas should receive different sets.
  • Per partner group: Hides the commission rates Partner group a. Use this variant if you want customer types, sales segments or other stable partner groups to influence the rate.

Decide on these two characteristics before composing the sentences. You determine how finely the commission matrix is constructed.

The four possible variants

Global commission rate

Are Per item group and Per partner group switched off, the commission group applies generally. Therefore, there can only be one commission rate within this group.

This variant is ideal if an employee should always receive the same percentage regardless of the item and partner.

Commission rate per item group

Is just Per item group activated, create a separate set for each required item group. The partner group remains without influence.

Commission rate per partner group

Is just Per partner group activated, X-ERP differentiates the records according to the business partner's group. The item group remains without influence.

Commission rate per item and partner group

If both options are activated, a matrix is created. Each sentence applies to exactly one combination item group and Partner group.

Example: Services for new customers can be compensated differently than the same services for existing customers. Each combination may only be created once within a commission group.

Fields of a commission rate

  • item group: Appears only if Per item group is activated. Select the group whose items should receive this sentence.
  • Partner group: Appears only if Per partner group is activated. Select the group whose business partners the rate should apply to.
  • Commission %: Percentage commission rate that X-ERP uses for the appropriate document item.

How to set up commission groups safely

  1. First, describe in writing how commission rates should actually differ.
  2. Use only stable criteria. item and partner groups should already be technically corrected and clearly named.
  3. Create the commission group and decide between a global rule, a group dimension or a combination of both dimensions.
  4. Save the group. Only then do you enter the corresponding commission rates.
  5. Create each required item/partner group combination exactly once.
  6. Assign the finished commission group to the intended employees (see Management > Employees > Commission group) to.
  7. Test the rule with realistic document items and check the percentage adopted and the commission amount.

This is how X-ERP finds the right sentence

For automatic assignment, three basic principles must fit together:

  • The responsible one Employees has the correct commission group.
  • The one used item belongs to the expected item group for item group-dependent rules.
  • The Business partner belongs to the expected partner group for partner group-dependent rules.

If a suitable assignment is missing, no intended sentence can be found. A value of 0 % can therefore either be set up deliberately or indicate a missing or inappropriate group assignment. In this case, first check the employee, item group and partner group.

Calculation and traceability

The commission amount is based on the percentage stored in the position and the commissionable position value. X-ERP takes into account, among other things, quantity, price, price unit and the discounts effective in the item; The amount is commercially rounded to two decimal places.

Because the percentage is stored in the document line, new master data rules do not automatically change every existing transaction. After a rule change, you should therefore specifically check new test items and - if technically necessary - documents that have already been recorded and can still be processed.

Check before sharing

  • The name clearly describes the target group and purpose of the commission group.
  • The selected dimensioning is not finer than is technically necessary.
  • Each required item/partner group combination has exactly one sentence.
  • Employees, items and partners are assigned to the expected groups.
  • The test receipt assumes the correct percentage for several typical combinations.
  • Commission amount and result after commission are plausible with a manual control calculation.
  • Changes, those responsible and the release date are documented.

What your team gets out of it

An individual calculation that is difficult to explain becomes a transparent compensation model. Sales employees recognize the rules according to which their commission is calculated, key users can specifically check special cases, and the company retains control even as product ranges and customer groups grow.
