Resource tab overview

The resource overview describes what a machine, workstation or other capacity can achieve per production cycle. Times, quantities and formulas become plannable production data.

Seconds, minutes, hours and days represent the same cycle value in different units. Change only one representation and control the automatic conversion.

Identification

• Resource number: Unique identifier of the resource; read-only after saving.
• Name 1: Main name of the resource and basis for the proposed matchcode.
• Name 2: Additional designation, such as type, version or location addition.
• Match code: Short search term for lists and production selections.
• Resource group: Technical group for selection, capacity planning and evaluation (see Production > Settings > Resource Groups).
• Storage info: Additional warehouse or operational classification of the resource, independent of general warehouse management.

Time and quantity per cycle

• Seconds per cycle: Central cycle duration in seconds; Changes update the other time units.
• Minutes per cycle: Same cycle time in minutes.
• Hours per cycle: Same cycle time in hours.
• Days per cycle: Same cycle length in days.
• Quantity per cycle: Performance or amount of resources required per cycle.
• Minimum quantity: Lower limit above which the resource can be used sensibly or permissibly.

Dynamic calculation

• Time formula: Optional formula for dynamic calculation of the cycle time from variables.
• Quantity formula: Optional formula to dynamically calculate the cycle amount.
• Insert variable: Opens the list of permitted placeholders and adopts the selected variable into the active formula.

Work safely

Name and group the resource, record a reliable cycle time and quantity, and only use formulas if the input variables are technically defined and tested.
