06. Install X-ERP-LandscapeDirectory-Creator and create XLD database

XLD is the table of contents of your X-ERP landscape. If it is precise, the application finds companies and services; if it's wrong, the company is looking in the wrong place.

Why this station counts

The LandscapeDirectory creator creates the central administration database. This separates the landscape description from the technical company databases and must therefore be expressly included in backup and restore.

The resilient process

1. Start the Creator with the designated administrative account.
2. Enter the documented SQL server and the named instance.
3. Assign the agreed XLD database name and check target paths.
4. Run the creation and save the log and result.
5. Check the database in SQL Server and test the connection in the Configurator.

Functional test - only then continue

• XLD is in the right instance.
• Ownership and permissions correspond to the operating model.
• Database is included in the backup plan.
• Configurator can reach XLD with the designated account.

If the result is not correct

• Several similarly named XLD databases cause confusion.
• Setup accounts remain as operational accounts unnecessarily.
• XLD is backed up but forgotten when the landscape is restored.
