09. X-ERP-Configurator

All previously prepared lines come together in the configurator. One wrong instance, one wrong folder, or one expired certificate is enough to break the entire chain.

Why this station counts

The configurator creates the operational context: SQL connection to the landscape, application and file paths, license information and certificate reference must be clear and testable.

The resilient process

1. Start the Configurator with a secured backup of the existing configuration.
2. Enter the SQL server, instance and XLD database exactly from the architecture sheet.
3. Check folders, write permissions, license and certificate selection.
4. Save, restart the application or pool and read the first logs.
5. Test company selection, authentication and access to a representative data set.

Functional test - only then continue

• The application connects to the correct XLD.
• Only designated company databases appear.
• License status and certificate are valid.
• Logs do not contain recurring connection or rights errors.

If the result is not correct

• Swapped test and productive XLD initially seems like “wrong data”.
• Plain text secrets in screenshots remain visible for a long time.
• Changing the configuration without backup makes the fallback more difficult.
