Register overview

The overview contains the most important identification and status information for an item. Here you can see at a glance what the item is called, how it is searched for and whether it can be actively used.

Information marked “read-only” or “automatic” is for informational purposes. They are defined elsewhere or calculated from transaction data.

Basic information

• Item number: Unique key of the item. It can be recorded when a new system is created; for a saved item it is read-only.
• Name: Main title of the item. You can maintain language-dependent names using the translation symbol. The name can contain 100 characters.
• Match code: The matchcode is a suggestion automatically generated by the system, consisting of the item number and Name1. This can be adjusted as required. It is primarily used to quickly find the item and is usually not displayed in forms.
• Item type: Read-only basic classification from the item template. Among other things, it decides which registers and process functions are available for the item.
• item group: Assigns the item to a technical group. If you change and save them for an existing item, X-ERP deletes the previous item discounts and applies the discounts of the newly selected group.
• Unit of measure (read-only): Base unit for quantities of the item. She comes from the item template and is used in receipts and calculations.

status and behavior

• Storage (read-only): Shows whether X-ERP maintains stocks and warehouse movements for the item. The default is set via the item template set.
• Is prepayment (only for prepaid items): Indicates a virtual prepaid item. The field only appears if this property has been set in the template.
• Active: Controls whether the item can be selected and used regularly. Deactivate items you no longer need.
• Favorite: Flags the item for views or searches that only show favorites. A favorite must be active.

Toolbox fields (configuration dependent)

The specific field names are not fixed in the ArticleEdit code, but come from the company-specific toolbox configuration.

• Toolbox fields: Additional or calculated information configured for the Edit Item page. Possible options are yes/no, text, multi-line text, email, URL, phone, selection, integer, decimal, date, date/time, formula and item margin.
• Formula / Item Margin (automatic): Shows a calculated result. The item margin uses COGS and calculated selling price; an incorrect or unpredictable result is flagged.
